Choosing Which Pictures to Use PDF Print E-mail

If you have too many pictures and just can't bear to cut any of them out, we have a few guidlines that may help you out!

1. Similar pictures are unnecessary.
I have seen many people send in two or three pictures that were obviously taken at the same event, with only a slight variation in the photo.  This one has three people in it; this one has five.  This one the little girl is smiling; this one she is looking at a flower.  If you have similar photos, pick one to go in the video and put the others aside.  We can group several pictures on screen all at once, but that does not reduce the cost of your video.  If you simply can't cut one of these photos out, you may just have to go back and rework your budget.

2. Don't discount "imperfect" photos...most of the time.
Sometimes photos are out of focus.  Sometimes the tops of someone's head is chopped off a bit.  When producing a photo video where memories are the key; these things are unimportant.  Choose those photos that hold dear memories to you, no matter what they look like.  We can correct most imperfections such as red eye, discoloration and even tearing or water damage.  The one thing we cannot fix is out of focus pictures.  You should only include an out of focus picture when it holds deep meaning for you and is absolutly essential.

3. Copyrighted Photos
Moving Pictures cannot use Copyrighted photos without written permission from the photographer.

If you want to use Olan Mills photos you may obtain a copyright release (for $15 each photo) by going to www.olanmills.com click on "Online Store" and then "Copyright Release".

For local photographers in your area, please have them fill out a copyright release form provided by Moving Pictures or they may submit one of their own.  You can either send that form in with your photos or have them fax the release to us at 479-464-5033.
